Team Walk4Daisy - The Bath 50 Ultra Challenge

Nikki Heather is raising money for The Daisy Garland

Bath 50 Ultra Challenge 2025 · 29 March 2025 ·

Sara, Nikki and Sarah, walking to fund life-saving epilepsy monitors for some of the 18,000 babies and children in the UK who suffer from drug-resistant epilepsy. THESE MONITORS SAVE LIVES! but are not available on the NHS for home use.

Story

My name is Nikki and I've been a Family Support Assistant at The Daisy Garland since 2019. The charity was set up in memory of a brave little girl called Daisy Garland who died in her sleep when she was 6 years old from SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy).

One of my main duties here at The Daisy Garland is to look after our lovely monitor families - over 1000 children are sleeping safe at night because of their Daisy Garland monitor. These monitors are not cheap (it costs £455 to fund an epilepsy monitor) but they are worth their weight in gold.

However, times are tough at the moment for small charities like us when it comes down to fundraising. And as we have 50+ babies and children on our monitor waiting list I thought it was time to step in and dust off my walking boots to raise lots of pennies to help these lovely families.

I will be taking on The Bath 50 Ultra Challenge, Walk4Daisy, in and around the city of Bath on Saturday 29th March. And I really need your support to get off my sofa!

I’m very unfit (far too many jaffa cakes under my belt!) so this challenge is going to be TOUGH! But it's for such an important cause and your sponsorship will be my driving force, motivating me to complete the challenge, I will also be spurred on by walking alongside five Mums who are also raising funds for The Daisy Garland, including Daisy's Mum, Sara.
