Story
According to the NHS one in every 100 people have ASD, these figures continue to grow, according to NAS 695,000 people in the U.K maybe Autistic, new figures for Northern Ireland show that 1 in 30 school aged children are diagnosed with Autism, yet there are still very limited resources available, more so with the current situation. We want to provide support to our families as well as being able to extend it to those families in the community who at present havent had the oppertunity to attend our meetups due to the location. NAS statistics showed that 70% of people with a diagnosis of ASD suffered from one or more mental health issues. We will encourage continuing links and friendships to help reduce the feeling of social isolation and loneliness for these families which will have a positive impact on both the young peoples and their families mental health.
