Welcome to Nico and Robert’s (The Flying Dutchmen) fundraising page!

On Saturday 20th June we will be setting off from Burnham Overy Staithe, and struggling around the North Norfolk coast on a:

- 1 mile Swim

- 4 mile Kayak

- 45 mile Cycle

- 8 mile Run

For everyone who knows us, you will realise that our bodies haven’t exactly been primed for something like this over recent years while at university. However, we are both now suitably terrified and the unthinkable sight of either of us in a gym has now somehow turned into a reality.

We will be taking part with Selina very much in the fore front of our minds. Norfolk, and especially Burnham Overy Staithe was a particularly special place for Selina, Nico’s sister and Robert’s cousin, who very sadly died last year. She had countless, genuinely joyful times there, constantly making the most of the surroundings, be that with family or friends, old and new.

Although there are few certainties in life, we can be very, very confident that we will be giving her some joy as she undoubtedly laughs from above as we struggle our way around the course.

We will be joining every team in the Superhero by raising money for Superhero Fund, within The Norfolk Community Foundation. The fund supports incredible work across the county in getting children active by identifying worthwhile causes that are too often neglected, especially in rural communities. There is more information about the challenges they tackle below.

Anything that you can give is hugely appreciated: being active outdoors shouldn’t be a luxury, and every donation will go towards making sure that it’s available for every child across Norfolk.
