On the first weekend of September 2023, a small group of 6 swimmers assisted by safety crews on a boat (inclusive of RNLI guard) will attempt to swim the north sea coastline of North Tyneside, from Tynemouth pier to St Mary's Lighthouse in Whitley Bay. A long sea swim of approximately 7km, fully supported with safety in mind.

A local challenge imagined by local sea swimmers who enjoy dipping in the sea all year round. The RNLI is here to ensure everyone can enjoy the water safely so this challenge will be in support of their work. As a charity, the RNLI depends on donations so it can go on saving lives and keeping us and our loved ones safe.
