Story

The Richard Whitehead Foundation enables disabled people’s ambitions through the power of sport and physical activity.
Everyone should have the opportunity to take on challenges like the Robin Hood Half Marathon.
Your donations contribute to directly to the foundation's Supported Sports Projects, which empower and enable disabled people to take part in running and swimming events with support from a volunteer.
A support runner/swimmer is a volunteer who runs alongside a disabled person to provide physical and emotional support throughout the race. They can help with pacing, motivation, navigation, and responding to any additional needs on the day, ensuring they feel confident and safe from start to finish.
Every £240 raised can help one disabled person take part in a sporting activity or event.
Here at Up & Running Nottingham, we feel an affinity with the incredible support that the Richard Whitehead Foundation is enabling.
We strongly feel that EVERYONE should be able to participate in sport & activities. It’s key to our emotional & psychological well-being, as much as our physical.
Please give and do what you can to help us raise funds and awareness for this charity.
Thank you so much for your support!
It’s much, much appreciated.
