Story

Firefighters from Newark Fire Station are taking part in the David Goggins 4x4x48... but with an extra challenge!

From Friday 13 June to Sunday 15 June 2025, the group will be running four miles, within 40 minutes, every four hours, in 48 hours - meaning they'll be running 48 miles in 48 hours.

This challenge is a test of both physical endurance and mental fortitude, requiring participants to stay active and disciplined over a long period with minimal rest.

They're raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity, as part of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service's 2025 Chief's Challenge, with a bid to raise over £100,000 this year.

The Fire Fighters Charity provides lifelong support to employees of the fire service and their families. They focus on mental, physical, and social wellbeing, offering a range of services including the Crisis Line, wellbeing support, and information and advice.
