Fundraiser for National Youth Harp Orchestra Charitable Trust

Jamie Cordell is raising money for National Youth Harp Orchestra Charitable Trust

Harpathon · 17 May 2026

Story

On Sunday 17th May members of the NYHO will play their harps continuously between 9am and 4.30pm to raise much needed funds for the orchestra's charity

Why the NYHO Charitable Trust?

The NYHO was set up in 2002 and now boasts 40 of the most talented harpists from all over the UK. In 2017 the orchestra became a charity. This supports players and the community in the following ways:

Bursaries: The NYHO provides financial support to talented harp students from all economic backgrounds, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed. Where needed, harps are also available to members free of charge to ensure everyone has equal opportunities to participate.

Graduate Bursary: Each year the NYHO provides £1000 to a member of the orchestra that will be going on to University or Music College to study music to aid them in their first year away.

Community Outreach: In addition to a full concert schedule commitment, members regularly perform at charity events, in hospitals and to residents in care homes, bringing joy and comfort through music. Recently members of the group have performed for cancer patients at the Macmillan Centre.

Thanks in advance for your support!
