Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Oliver was diagnosed with very severe Aplastic Anaemia in Aug 2023 after first becoming unwell in July 2023 and since then had spent the following 4 months being transfusion dependent with Platelets weekly and Bloods around every 2 weeks and suffering multiple infections requiring hospital admissions on IV antibiotics.

He underwent a Bone Marrow Transplant in Nov 2023 at Bristol Hospital where he was isolated in his hospital room for 4 weeks, then spent the next 2 months having to stay in an apartment in Bristol. During this part, Oliver’s brothers were finally allowed to come and see him and stay over at the apartment at weekends providing no one was unwell.

Fast forward a year to Nov 2024, he was able to Ring the end of treatment bell! And now that he is able to, Oliver and his older brother Frankie would love to raise money and awareness for The Aplastic Anaemia trust and what a better way than to climb Mount Snowdon!

Aplastic Anaemia is a super rare blood disorder where the bone marrow isn’t producing any new blood cells as it should.

The Aplastic Anaemia trust is the only charity in the UK focused on Aplastic Anaemia. They fund research to improve treatment, provide expert information, and work tirelessly, at grassroots level, to support every aplastic anaemia patient and their loved ones.

They have helped us personally by supporting us with any questions or worries we had and by providing age appropriate information to be able to explain everything that was going on with Oliver to himself and his brothers Frankie and Arthur.

Thank you so much for reading and donating! We are very grateful for your support. Xxx
