Story
From Ollie
We've got 7 weeks to train for this 1/2 marathon (madness!), but this is a cause very close to my heart.
My daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2021 and since then I am in awe of her, the young people I've met dealing epilepsy on a day-to-day basis and also the charities, such as Young Epilepsy, that do such important work to support children and young adults with some of the most severe forms of the condition.
So, if you want to make me feel really good about agreeing to do this 1/2 marathon after such little training and raise some money for a really good cause please sponsor me!
From Caroline
I developed epilepsy during my second pregnancy and I know first hand how frightening and isolating the condition can be, and the huge impact it has on a person's life plus their family and friends around them.
I am running the half marathon with Ollie to help raise funds for Young Epilepsy and the incredible work they do to help and support children and young people with epilepsy, and their families.
There is method to our madness and a donation to support us will not only encourage, motivate and inspire us to complete the Royal Parks Half, it will also raise valuable funds for Young Epilepsy.
From Young Epilepsy
Young Epilepsy is dedicated to standing up for children and young people with epilepsy. We're here for them. Epilepsy can be one of the most frightening and isolating conditions a young person can experience.
We need your support because epilepsy is limiting the chances of thousands of children and young people in the UK today, and may continue to do so for the rest of their lives.
The money we raise will be used to improve research, treatment and practical help and support for children and young people with epilepsy. Your contribution, however big or small, will make an impact. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. Together we create possible.
