Story
On Sunday 11th May 2025, we will be running the Rob Burrow’s Leeds Marathon to raise money for The One Love Project.
The One Love Project (formerly The Abode Project) is a grassroots non-profit organisation working at the heart of the community in Kabale, Southern Uganda.
Over the past five years, thanks to generous donors and volunteers, they have made a lasting impact — but we need your help to ensure that this can continue.
What they have achieved so far:
• Built a school that now provides education to over 100 children who would otherwise have no access to learning.
• Established boarding facilities that are home to orphaned and homeless children, giving them care, stability, and two dedicated Social Workers.
• Created a Special Needs Centre that offers physiotherapy, tailored education, and support — and acts as a respite centre so families can work and build better lives.
• Supporting the Wider Community from funding small business grants to rebuilding homes.
So that this amazing work can continue and flourish, The One Love Project would massively appreciate any donations or support that you can give - no matter how big or small.
Your support will ensure that:
• Children are clothed, fed, and cared for.
• They receive vital medical and emotional support.
• The local team of carers, teachers, therapists, and social workers are paid fairly for their tireless work.
• The school and facilities continue to grow and thrive.
• More opportunities are provided for children and young people.
The One Love Project believes that every child deserves a chance - a chance to learn, to feel safe, and to dream big and so do we.
Please donate what you can and help us continue this journey of love, hope, and transformation.
Thank you for standing with us.
