Story
Hello, my name is Liona Williams and I’m a Customer Services Representative at XMA.
This year, I’m taking on a personal challenge that I have wanted to do for a long time, which is climbing Scafell Pike (England’s highest mountain) on Saturday the 11th July 2026.
My view is that I could climb it because I believe I am capable, but then I realised... what greater purpose could this serve other than supporting a cause that truly matters?
This is why I am proud to be fundraising for Central Women’s Aid, in support of XMA's Charity of the Year Fundraiser for Nottingham Central Women's Aid. Find out more here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/xma-ltd-annual-charity-2026.
Our collective aim is to support an organisation that provides life‑saving refuge and specialist support for women and children escaping domestic abuse.
During my maternity leave, I discovered a love for climbing with meaning when I reached the summit of Snowdon whilst fundraising for Karimia Institute. The experience lit a spark and now I’m aiming to raise £1,000 as part of XMA’s wider mission to raise £10,000 for Central Women’s Aid. Every pound will help women and families rebuild their lives with safety, dignity and hope.
Scafell Pike stands at 978 metres, which guarantees a tough, demanding climb that mirrors the strength and resilience of the women this charity supports every day. I’ll be taking on the Wesdale route with my husband and every step of training is a reminder of why this matters: to raise awareness, funds and stand with those who need it most.
I would love for you all to join me in making a real impact by offering a donation, big or small, which will help turn this climb into meaningful change for women and children who deserve safety and a fresh start.
Let’s reach that £1,000 target together and help Central Women’s Aid continue its vital work.
