The Baxendale family are raising money in memory of Órla, a very special daughter and sister, who we lost tragically on 11th January 2024. Órla was a talented professional dancer living and working in the USA.

Órla was diagnosed with a peanut allergy at only 18 months old and was a lifelong member of Anaphylaxis UK. She was incredibly diligent with her allergies and always checked ingredients carefully, carried at least 2 Epipens at all times, and educated all her family and friends about what to do in the event of an emergency. Despite all of this, tragically Órla died following a severe allergic reaction which led to anaphylactic shock, caused by eating a food product in the USA which did not disclose peanuts on the label.

Órla’s primary school, St Veronica’s RC Primary (Helmshore), and secondary school, Westholme (Blackburn) are raising money in her memory.

We have chosen Anaphylaxis UK as the charity we wish both schools to donate to as they were very supportive to our family in providing training courses and advice for Órla’s parents and siblings, as well as both schools.
