Story
I know how lucky I am to be starting a new adventure this year as a first year undergraduate at the University of Bath. University is often described as 'the best years of your life' but I am also aware that for far too many the academic and social pressures, financial stress and the challenge of living alone for the first time can be overwhelming and isolating. I have seen at first hand that not everyone makes it and yet - they could have - if the right support had been available at the right time. So I have signed up for the Bath Challenge 2026 to raise awareness of this important issue and to support the amazing work of Student Minds, a charity which works tirelessly to support students struggling with their mental health.
The work of Student Minds is so crucial. When I realised by taking on the Bath Challenge that I could not only challenge myself physically and mentally, but also fundraise for this charity, I felt I had to take part and do what I could.
Student Minds offer vital support so that students do not have to face their challenges alone. This ensures affected students can continue with their studies, fulfil their potential and enjoy their time at Uni. The money raised will help Student Minds support students in crisis, run awareness campaigns and provide the necessary training for staff.
In order to take part in the Bath Challenge 2026, I have to commit to a 130 km trek through the Himalayas to Everest Base Camp. I will be covering the costs of that challenge myself ensuring that every penny of the £2,790 target on this Just Giving page will go to Student Minds.
Every donation big or small makes a difference and I would be very grateful for anything you can contribute to help me support this very worthwhile cause.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting student mental health.
