Story
University is often described as “the best years of your life” — but the reality for some can be very different. Many students struggle with their mental health while juggling academic pressure, social change, financial stress, and the challenges of living away from home. For some, it’s a time of personal growth and opportunity. For others, it can feel isolating and overwhelming.
Student Minds supports and empowers students to look after their own mental health, support their friends, and create positive change across universities. They run national campaigns, peer support programmes, and training that equips students with the tools to build resilience and community. They also work closely with universities, students' unions, and other organisations to help create a culture where mental health is understood, prioritised, and supported across the whole institution.
As students at the University of Bath, we know how important this work is. In conjunction with Choose a Challenge UK we will be taking on a huge challenge: Everest Base Camp. We will be pushing ourselves both mentally and physically, but doing it with a strong purpose — to raise awareness and funds for a cause that really matters.
Choose a Challenge works with students across the UK to make unforgettable adventures accessible, while raising money for important charities. These experiences are about more than the destination — they help young people grow in confidence, leadership, and resilience. And for many, they become a powerful way to connect to causes they care deeply about.
By supporting this fundraiser, you're helping Student Minds continue their life-changing work, and making sure no student has to face mental health challenges alone.
💛 Every donation, big or small, makes a difference.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting student mental health.
