In March 2026, 25 Reckitt employees and partners will take on the Journey of Water - an 8-day expedition along the Tugela River in the breathtaking Drakensberg mountains of South Africa.

South Africa is the 30th driest country in the world, receiving just half the global average rainfall - and the communities and wildlife that depend on this river are feeling the impact. Over 8 days, we’ll trek, learn, and connect with the land and its people, gaining firsthand insight into the region’s water crisis and the vital role the Tugela River plays in sustaining life.

Each participant is committed to raising £4,000, with 100% of the funds going directly to conservation projects that support both local communities and biodiversity in South Africa.

This isn’t just a trip - it’s a mission. We’ll be rolling up our sleeves to take part in restoration efforts, learning from local experts, and witnessing the challenges and solutions that define water conservation in one of the world’s most water-stressed regions.

To help reach my fundraising goal, I’m taking on a series of endurance challenges - starting with a DIY Ironman spread across three months:

🏊‍♂️ September – A 3.8km swim

🏃‍♂️ October – Two half marathons

🚴‍♂️ November – A 180km cycle ride

In addition to this in April, I’ll be running the Manchester Marathon - my first ever marathon - in support of WWF!

And that’s just the beginning. I’ll also be organising other fundraising activities in the lead-up to the expedition - all in support of this incredible cause.
