Our Cancer Immunology Fund helps our scientists create innovative new cancer treatments and to save even more lives in the fight against cancer.

Story

On Saturday 16th August I will be climbing the three highest peaks in Wales (Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan) in 24hrs with Ryan Waite, Clare Murrell, Adele Thorpe, Richard Perkins and Claire Liggins.

I will be doing this to raise funds for the University Hospital in Southampton for their Cancer Immunology Fund. They are doing great things with their research into Oesophageal Cancer which affects 11,000 people per year.

Unfortunately, the survival rate for this specific Cancer is poor – and the research team at UHS are working on a breakthrough which will help them to understand and reduce poor outcomes, as well as increase life expectancy post treatment. This trial will then have the potential to be rolled out for other cancers.

Having never climbed a single peak in my life, this is going to be a challenge!

I would very much appreciate your support

Thank you
