Story
On Sunday 26th April 2026 I will be running the London Marathon for St Catherine's Hospice in memory of my dearest brother Francis and all those I know who have been touched by the work of St Catherine's.
Running the London Marathon has always been a dream of mine and I have entered the ballot for the last 14 years without any luck. I am both proud and grateful to have secured a place on April 26 with St. Catherine’s Hospice which is based in Crawley. They offer compassionate, expert end-of-life care and support. Their mission is to make sure nobody faces death and loss alone.
My brother Francis spent his last 6 weeks at St. Catherine’s hospice and from the moment he arrived at the hospice not only was he treated with patience, dignity, and unwavering kindness and empathy, but our entire family were guided and supported by all the staff and volunteers. The staff made such a difference at the most challenging time of our lives.
St Catherine’s Hospice relies heavily on donations to provide free, expert end-of-life care for people living with terminal illnesses across Sussex and Surrey. Every pound donated will help fund nurses, counsellors, and support staff who make an incredible difference, every single day.
