Story
Autism is a life long developmental disability that affects 1 in 100 people. It affects the way a person communicates and how they see the world around them. Only 29% of autistic people are in work. And 4 out of 5 autistic young people have poor mental health.
Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for autistic children and young people championing their rights and creating opportunities. They stand with autistic children and young people by providing services, raising awareness, understanding and by campaigning for change.
Through Marsh McLennan's partnership with Ambitious about Autism, I have grown increasingly passionate about supporting autistic young people, creating opportunities in which they can contribute and thrive.
The Lloyds Building Charity Abseil is a massive personal challenge for me. I am turning 50 two weeks before the event and wanted to start my 51st year by doing something that is meaningful and also pushes me out of my comfort zone - abseiling 289ft down the iconic Lloyd's building in London!
The money my colleagues and I raise will go towards a flagship employability programme helping autistic young people gain meaningful employment. This programme is crucial in helping them access the workplace, which is vital to independence, self-esteem and well-being.
Please help me by donating as much or as little as you can spare - every £1 will make a difference.
Thank you! Tricia x
