A Night in the Nave Sleep Out 2026

Paul Watkins is raising money for Light Project Peterborough
A Night in the Nave Sleep Out at Peterborough Cathedral gives people an unique experience whilst raising awareness and funds to help those in need and experiencing homelessness within the city.

Story

Nobody should be forced to sleep on the streets in modern Britain yet Peterborough, like many cities, has a serious homelessness problem.

That's why on 19 March I'm taking part in 'A Night in the Nave' Sleep Out 2026 to raise both awareness and funds for Light Project Peterborough (LPP) who support those homeless and in need within the city.

The Light Project is a remarkable project based in the Garden House in the Cathedral grounds. Between October 2024 - September 2025, Light Project Peterborough supported 989 people at the Garden House, helped 576 to move off the streets and into accommodation, and had 495 new people come through their doors.

LPP also run other projects including Homeless Health Hub, Homeless Health Peer Advocacy, Street Chaplaincy, Peterborough Night Shelter, and Across Peterborough.

The project's vision is uplifting and inspiring - it pledges to 'heal the broken-hearted, set free the oppressed, and bring good news to the poor'. Its work is phenomenal and I would urge all who read this to support the 'Sleep Out' by contributing to this event.

Please support me by making a donation to my fundraising page. Your contribution will give help make a difference to lives in Peterborough.
