The Vision of Light Project Peterborough is: Enabling and equipping the church and community to heal the broken hearted, set free the oppressed and bring good news to the poor.

Story

Since 2015, LPP have been running activities to help support those in need in our city, including those who are sleeping rough, and continue to raise awareness that everyone should have somewhere safe and secure to live in. At Peterborough’s homeless hub, the Garden House, they are committed to supporting the most vulnerable people in Peterborough and offer a multi-agency approach to provide advice and support from housing officers, GPs, drug and alcohol specialists, and many other professionals.

To maintain the running of this important service, events such as this Sleep Out are organised so vital funds can be raised. It also provides participants a small insight into what homelessness can feel like. If you are unable to attend the event in person, then please do try to participate virtually by hosting your own Sleep Out or making a contribution to the campaign. Please do share this event far and wide.

Debbie Sellin, Bishop of Peterborough, said, “I am delighted that Peterborough Cathedral will be hosting the annual Big Sleep Out. Each year, this great event helps to increase awareness of homelessness as well as raise vital funds to help those in need in our city. Please do consider supporting ‘A Night in the Nave’ either by taking part if you are able, sponsoring someone who is, or making a donation to the work of Light Project Peterborough.”
