My journey with cancer began at the age of 16, when I lost my Dad just six weeks after his diagnosis. That sudden loss taught me that prevention is the only way forward, and today, that mission is closer to home than ever. ❤️

On 1st May, I am taking on a 12-hour Danceathon with a very specific focus. I am dancing for Prevent Breast Cancer for the women in my life—my friends, family, and colleagues—but also for every woman whose life has been changed by this disease, and to protect those we love in the future. 👭

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the UK. It is also the leading cause of death for women aged 35–49. 🎀

That’s why soon they’ll be launching the Prevent Breast Cancer Research Unit (PBC‑RU)—a virtual, world‑leading hub uniting Manchester’s top researchers, datasets and clinical expertise to accelerate prevention. 🧪🔬

The PBC‑RU will be especially powerful for younger women, helping identify risk earlier and enabling interventions long before cancer develops. A collaborative powerhouse, focused on one goal: a future where breast cancer can be predicted and prevented. 🛡️

From 11am until 11pm, I’ll be on the dance floor with Team Empower to help raise £75,000 for Prevent Breast Cancer. 🎶💃 Let’s dance for a future where breast cancer is preventable for everyone.
