Story
About The Children’s Society
We’re here for children and young people when they need us most. We support them when they’re facing huge life challenges like abuse, exploitation, or neglect. And we campaign tirelessly for the big social changes we need to change the lives of the next generation for the better. We’ve been doing this work for 140 years and we won’t rest until every child is safe, happy, and hopeful.
Our services
We work with young people across the country to help them transform their lives. Our services support young people who have suffered abuse, who have run away from home, who are struggling with mental health issues. We look out for young carers, children at risk of being exploited, young refugees with nowhere else to turn.
In 2022/23, we supported more than 63,000 children and young people directly, as well as more than 5,000 parents and carers. An estimated 863,555 young people were impacted by our systems change work and more than 135,000 people actively supported The Children’s Society through volunteering, fundraising, donating, and campaigning.
Our services are as varied as the experiences of the young people we meet. We listen to them so that they get the right support at the right time – boosting their well-being, protecting them from harm, and making sure they have access to the essentials. We’re here for as long as it takes, until they have the tools they need to look forward to a brighter future.
