Story

On Friday 26 June 2026, ALABARÉ will host its first ever BIG Sleep at St Paul’s Cathedral public sleepout, bringing people together in order to raise funds to support homeless veterans.

It will be a challenge and a privilege for me to be amongst 200 people who will be sleeping out in the grounds of St Paul's Cathedral on Friday 26th June in support of ALABARÉ's essential work.... I hope I won't need my foul weather gear.

ALABARÉ is a charity committed to ensuring no veteran is left without a home, care and hope.

The BIG Sleep exists because the following numbers aren’t just statistics — they’re people who served our nation and deserve better.

Veterans across the UK are experiencing a growing homelessness crisis:

- 2,270 veterans in England are homeless or at risk.

- An estimated 7,500 veterans UK-wide are homeless or in emergency accommodation.

- 13,231 people slept rough in London last year, a high proportion of whom are former service personnel.

- ALABARÉ are seeing a 121% increase in veterans needing urgent support.

By contributing to "The Big Sleep St Paul's Cathedral 2026" and helping me reach my target of £3,000, you are making a tangible difference in the lives of those who have given so much for our country. Your contribution will provide essential resources and support to ensure that every veteran has safe housing, the care they need and a future they can look forward to.

Together, we can change lives and restore hope.
