Story
Inclusion really matters. Neurodivergence and disability have for too long been seen as something to overcome. I'm lucky to know quite a few people who are living their best lives with neurodivergence and disability. For many, Include.org is part of that.
Creating a world where no-one is excluded because of communication needs.
Include is an award-winning Surrey-based charity offering social, learning and therapeutic opportunities for people age 16+ who have communication needs. Most have multiple and varied conditions or diagnoses, and intersectionality in their experiences of being excluded.
Include is all about thinking outside the box: music, games, cake and laughter are some of the tools to bring inclusive communication to life. Inclusive Communication means recognising, respecting and using all forms of communication – not just the written and spoken word.
Include helps reduce exclusion, by providing Speech and Language Therapy-based community activities and training which:
● Promote inclusion and wellbeing
● Empower people with communication needs
● Develop communication skills with individuals, services and communities
