My name is Peter Gargan and I will be taking part in the Inflatable 5K obstacle course run this September 13th to raise funds and empower refugees and asylum seekers around Derby.

After having previously taken part in the Derby 10K run alongside Upbeat earlier this year, it has inspired me to get back into running as a hobby and to continue lending my support for their cause and I would love another opportunity to run with them again.

The people at Upbeat Communities do incredible work to help those who have fled conflict for safer lives and I believe they deserve a chance to thrive and be welcomed into our community as having a strong social circle to rely on makes all the difference.

The many ways Upbeat provides support include resources for English classes, support groups, emergency accommodation and much more to help our participants with rebuilding their lives.
