Tess and Peter: Leeds Marathon Running for Motor Neurone Disease Association

Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon 2025 · 11 May 2025 ·
On May 11th, Tess is running the Leeds Half Marathon, and Peter is running the Leeds Marathon, in memory of our close friend Sam.
Peter ran the Leeds Marathon last May to raise awareness of MND and funding for research, because Sam had been diagnosed with the cruel disease in early 2023. After a very brave battle, she sadly passed away in July last year.
We would be so grateful if you can support us in fundraising for MND research and treatment, or even just sharing this page. The progress being being made against MND is truly incredible, and the better we can keep funding the science, the better impact we can have on the lives of those affected by the disease.
All money raised will go directly to the MND Association - there’s detail further down this page about their vital work. Lots of love, Peter and Tess ❤️

The Leeds Marathon was created in honour of Rob Burrow - the Leeds rugby legend who was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, and who has been central to generating millions of pounds of investment into MND research.
Read more here about Rob Burrow and some of the incredible things he led to raise money for MND research.
He sadly passed away in June 2024 - a few weeks after last year's Leeds Marathon. Peter was lucky enough to see him at the starting line of the race last year, and we're running in his memory too.
