Story
I am taking part in the "5775 Steps for Solidarity - UK to Dhaka" walk on 16 April 2026, a meaningful journey covering 57.75 miles to symbolically bridge the distance from London to Dhaka. This walk is more than just a physical challenge; it is a heartfelt stand with garment workers worldwide who endure poverty wages, grueling hours, forced overtime, unsafe working conditions, and various forms of abuse and repression.
The fashion industry often hides these harsh realities behind a veil of opacity, making it difficult to hold brands accountable. Labour Behind the Label is committed to changing this narrative by advocating for transparency and justice. I am joining this cause because every step taken represents hope and solidarity with those whose voices are too often silenced.
Your support can make a tangible difference. By contributing to my fundraising goal of £577 for the "5775 Sponsored Walk - the distance to Dhaka," you help push for an industry where dignity, fair wages, and safe working environments are not exceptions but standards. Please stand with me and garment workers around the world—together, we can walk towards change, one mile at a time.
