Story
On the 11th October 2025, our team descended 415 feet, 17 floors, down the side of the iconic National Lift Tower in Northampton, all to raise crucial funds for Vision Care for Homeless People.
Vision Care for Homeless People is a charity set up to provide eye care services to people affected by homelessness in an accessible and friendly environment in which they feel safe, welcome and comfortable.
They run professional eye care clinics within homeless centres in England and Scotland. The fully equipped eye testing rooms are staffed by volunteer optometrists, dispensing opticians and assistants.
Clinics provide NHS Optician Services.
As many groups experience difficulty accessing free eye care, they provide a sight test and glasses to everyone who is affected by homelessness or without means.
This abseil was a massive challenge for us as a team – it’s a test of nerve, teamwork, and facing our fears head-on.
But it's nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by homeless and vulnerable people with life-changing sight conditions.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will directly contribute to Vision Care’s vital services and motivate us as we prepare to step off that ledge.
