Story

Hi I’m Phil,

Daddy, husband and dairy farmer, who’s about to take off my wellies and put on my running shoes for our precious son Freddie, as I embark on the TCS 2025 London Marathon to raise much needed awareness and funds for the MPS Society - the only UK charity which supports children with Sanfilippo Syndrome which Freddie was sadly diagnosed with.

On 1st March 2022, our world fell apart when our precious eldest son Freddie was diagnosed with MPS IIIA, (Sanfilippo Syndrome) just before his 2nd birthday. A phone call that changed our lives forever. We had no warning or any indication of the severity of Freddies rare genetic disease and our lives instantaneously changed forever. Something we had never heard of, has presented us with our greatest battle. The heartache, pain and suffering has been unimaginable, yet we must fight on.

Freddie is our inspiration, despite his diagnosis and the daily challenges he faces, he lights up every room with his infectious smile, boundless love, strength and resilience. Freddie you are a true inspiration.

Your support can make a tremendous difference in Freddie's life and the lives of many other children facing similar challenges. Donations will go directly to the MPS Society to help fund their essential work, including medical treatments, therapies, and research initiatives. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to making a positive impact.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support as we walk (or run in this marathon case) this unknown journey for your love and support, we are truly touched as a family.

Thank you

Phil
