Story
On Sunday 25th August, we are walking, running and bum shuffling to raise funds for PKS UK which supports medical research into the very rare Pallister- Killian Syndrome (PKS) As there are only around 30 or so known cases of PKS in the UK very little research exists on PKS. Life for families living with a child with a PKS diagnosis is extremely uncertain. Through the new charity, we are raising funds to support research into many aspects of PKS to enable a greater understanding of this randomly occurring syndrome.
The planned route is approximately 4.12km in length
(The significance of this is that Pallister-Killian syndrome is a rare chromosomal disorder caused by the presence of at least 4 copies of the short arm of chromosome 12 instead of the normal 2).
PKS UK is a registered UK charity which aims to support clinical research into the very rare Pallister-Killian Syndrome. PKS UK also provides advice and support to families impacted by PKS. For more information on PKS UK please visit our website- www.pksuk.org
