I'm abseiling for the Mayor of Halifax's charity St Augustine's Centre Halifax

On April 12th (or 13th or 27th depending on the weather) I will join the Mayor of Calderdale to take fundraising to new heights—literally!
Alongside other volunteers I will be abseiling down the iconic Wainhouse Tower, all in support of the St Augustine’s Centre, the chosen mayoral charity (and my new, fantastic place of work!). 🧡
For over 50 years, St Augustine’s Centre has been a beacon of hope and support for refugees, people seeking asylum, and vulnerable migrants in Calderdale. With warmth and compassion, they provide practical assistance, legal advice, education, and a welcoming community to help individuals and families rebuild their lives with dignity.
The Mayor has chosen this incredible charity because of the vital role it plays in making Calderdale a place of sanctuary and solidarity. In a time when so many people face hardship and uncertainty, the support St Augustine’s Centre provides is more important than ever.
Every donation, big or small, will help fund this life-changing work.
