Story
Hi, I’m Prasanna, a Schools Worker with Faith in Schools, based in Newham.
On Saturday 13th June 2026, I’ll be taking part in the Living Water Sponsored Walk, a 10-mile journey along our local riverside. This special event brings churches together as we step out into the wider community to support the work of Faith in Schools.
Faith in Schools exists to build a bridge between churches and local schools. We go into schools to support RE lessons, share the message of Jesus in a relevant and engaging way, and organise visits so pupils can experience the welcome and community of local churches.
Throughout the year, we also run large-scale events such as Christmas Journeys, Easter Experience, and Life Expo, where thousands of children take part in interactive, day-long experiences that bring faith and values to life.
We are a small team of four, supported by over 200 dedicated volunteers, and everything we do is made possible through prayer, generosity, and partnership with local churches.
This walk is an important fundraiser for us. Together, we aim to raise at least £10,000 and hope to encourage many others to walk alongside us. Help us by spreading the word, sponsorship or joining!
Together, as churches united, we can continue reaching young people and serving our community.
Note: The walk is 10 miles long and the 'blue' route follows the River Lea, Bow Creek, River Thames, across King George V Dock to Gallions Point Marina.
Our start point is Timber Lodge, 1A Honour Lea Avenue, E20 1DY at 10am.
Thank you so much for your support 💙
