Our activities include multi-sensory experiences, arts and crafts activities, forest school, soft play.

Story

As a team and during 2024 we have been considering our own well-being and the well-being of others, our family, friends and colleagues. We have decided on a team challenge. We will complete a Virtual Walking Challenge taking in the home towns of each team member. We’ll track our progress and give local updates and pics of our hometown walks. As a group our aim will be to collectively walk 661 miles between April and September. To end this epic challenge we will join together to walk around a reservoir local to Hastings, Bewl Water, on Thursday 12th September. An additional 12.5 miles.

Whilst caring for our own well-being it is important we all think of others well-being and have decided that our challenge will raise money for a local charity, Sensory Soft Play.

Nina’s Grandson Eddie, who has 1p36 Deletion Syndrome, Autism and other associated conditions such as Hypotonia, and his family have been supported by sensory soft play for a number of years. Eddie is 8.

Soft Play provide much needed respite for families locally to Hastings and surrounding areas of children with special educational needs including autism and learning difficulties amongst others.

They have a sensory room, provide multi-sensory activities and let the children play freely without judgement.

They are a small charity and rely on donations and grants from local organisations to help them continue this much needed service to families locally.

We’ll start our ‘Virtual walk in Hastings where Nina and Sanchia live, onto Hawkhurst, Tania's home in Kent, then west to Blandford Forum where Gerry lives, on into Somerset, Bridgewater for Simons home, then a big deep breath to head North to Preston, the home of Dave and last but by no means least to Blackburn, Taylors home. After Blackburn we’ll head back south to Bewl Water and complete the last leg of the challenge, a 12.5 mile walk together around Bewl Water.
