Story
We are a team of very mixed age and running experience, loosely connected to the UK property market, but united by a burning desire to raise money and awareness for the incredible battle being fought by the MND Community against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
MND is a barbaric, medieval disease that Rob Burrow likened to being buried alive and that one in 300 people will suffer from. As yet there is no cure or even respite from the disease and so every penny that can be raised is absolutely vital.
Every runner needs a 'Why'. The majority of our team are not natural or even regular runners and so the training requirements for us to even contemplate entering the Leeds MND marathon have been arduous. However, our 'Why' is very simple and very clear - we are determined to do whatever we can for those suffering from MND and for their families and friends. We therefore have no shame in hoping that you will support us accordingly.
The 4Ed Foundation was established following the MND diagnosis of the former Gloucester & Leicester rugby player Ed Slater, with the vision of creating an inclusive community for families impacted by MND. Recognising the unique challenges the disease presents, the foundation aims to provide vital resources and support to enhance the quality of life for those affected by MND.
The core purpose of 4Ed is to ease the financial burden on families by raising money to award grants that offer financial assistance and practical support.
By supporting our quest, you will be directly contributing to this important work and helping to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
