Story
A Step Too Far
Since losing our son Dylan to meningococcal septicaemia aged just 21 months in 2005, my family and I have been involved in raising funds to support medical research into the eradication of all forms of meningitis and sepsis. I am conscious that so many people have already been extremely generous over the years, and together we’ve raised hundreds of thousands of pounds.
However the work goes on, and I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April, and I’m hoping once again to raise funds for this amazing cause.
I am not a runner and fought my way through every second of training for the London 10k last year. But in the euphoria of having completed it, I agreed to take on the London Landmarks Half Marathon this coming April. I honestly feel that I’ve bitten off more than I can chew and am not relishing the training again, but if you are able to sponsor me, it will make it all the more worthwhile, whilst most importantly helping future generations avoid the devastating consequences of this terrible disease.
Many thanks,
Quent
