Story
I’m running the London Marathon this year in memory of my wonderful mother‑in‑law, Irene, and to raise money for St Catherine’s Hospice — the place that cared for her with such kindness, dignity, and compassion.
Irene welcomed me into her family from the very beginning. She was a devoted mum and a much‑loved Nana to our three children. Even through a long illness and increasing challenges, she never complained. She simply carried on with quiet strength and we are full of gratitude for the support she received from St Catherine’s. Irene sadly passed in June 2026, just a few months short of her 80th birthday. We all miss her humour, kindness, compassion and apple crumble!
St Catherine’s care made an enormous difference — to Irene and Spike and to all of us. I’m running to honour her, to say thank you, and to help ensure other families receive the same comfort and support when they need it most.
On Sunday 25th April 2027, I will be pounding the iconic streets of London to raise vital funds for St Catherine's Hospice. With their help, we can continue to be there for terminally ill people in our community through this challenging time and beyond.
26.2 miles is not going to be easy, so please support me and St Catherine’s by making a donation Together we can keep our hospice running.
If you’re able to donate, no matter the amount, it would mean so much to us. Thank you for helping me run this marathon in Irene’s memory.
