Story
I'm going to be 50 this year and I've set myself the challenge getting 50 people to start a fundraiser for Reverse Rett.
My 50th birthday isn't any old day. It also marks 25 years to the day that Amber was diagnosed with Rett syndrome.
Although it was a pretty horrible birthday that year, I've always insisted that I won't let that memory spoil my birthday so on the bright side, we don't have a D-day to dread like other families do.
This year, I actually want to go the opposite way and do something BIG to mark the occasion.
Having your child diagnosed with Rett syndrome and everything that brings is undeniably devastating but there are some shards of light.
One is how other people respond when you tell them about the situation and ask for help.
We are closer now than ever to having treatment for Rett syndrome but our work at Reverse Rett cannot go on without your help.
Please help me mark my 50 years on the planet and 25 years of Amber and me wrestling Rett syndrome together and help support our efforts to bring treatments for this disease to everyone who needs it.
You can help by setting up your own Just Giving page for whatever you want to do, or by making a small donation here.
I am very grateful for your support.
