On the evening of Friday 20th March 2026, I'm going to be taking on the London Walk for Streetwise Opera, the opera company that works with people who've experienced homeless, where I have the privilege of being CEO.

I'll be walking a half marathon through the night as part of the London Walk, an event that brings charities working in the homelessness sector together to walk as one.

Founded in 2002, Streetwise Opera enables people who’ve experienced homelessness to find inspiration and empowerment while they rebuild their lives and identities. We support participants to develop as creative people, using opera to amplify their voices and change how society views homelessness. We bring together diverse voices by engaging world-class artists, both established and emerging, to co-create bold new work and reimagine traditional repertoire with our performers. Streetwise Opera is the only opera company in the UK that creates opera by, with, and for people with experience of homelessness.

Right now, the funding climate for organisations such as ours is incredibly challenging - that's why whatever amount you can donate will be so incredibly appreciated, and will allow us to continue our vital work as we approach our 25th anniversary. I'll leave you with a quote from one of our participants that explains the impact of our work better than I ever could:
