Story
900,000 people in the UK live with dementia: a diagnosis that often leads to isolation indoors. Dementia Adventure thinks differently about dementia. Our positive focus is on the individual, not the condition. Connection with nature has positive health benefits and can even slow down the progression of dementia symptoms. Through our holidays, training and research, we remove barriers, improve confidence, and increase opportunities for people to stay active, keep connected to family and friends, and retain a sense of adventure in their lives.
As part of our team wellbeing initiative at Right at Home Ilkley, we have started Run Club! This is a social run that allows our team to come together, enjoy time outside of work, and promote both physical and mental wellbeing.
We are also proud to share that our Managing Director, Paresh Mistry, and Registered Manager Samuel Harrop will be taking part in the Ilkley Half Marathon on Sunday 12th July, raising funds for Dementia Adventure.
In addition, Samuel will be participating in a series of Trail Half Marathons including Burnsall (Saturday 18th April), Kettlewell (Saturday 20th June), and Malham (Saturday 5th September).
We would be incredibly grateful for any support you can give—every donation, no matter the size, will help Dementia Adventure continue their vital work supporting people living with dementia and their families to stay active, connected, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
