Story
This November, I’m taking on a challenge to run 168.8 km – the equivalent of 4 marathons – throughout the month to raise awareness and funds for the millions of people suffering due to the escalating crises in Lebanon and Palestine.
I’ve set up a fundraising page where you can follow my progress and donate. The main fundraiser supports the Lebanon Emergency Appeal, but if you’d like to donate directly to the Gaza Emergency Fund, using the following link: https://www.humanappeal.org.au/appeal/gaza-emergency-appeal-2023-2/
If you’re unable to donate, that’s okay! You can still make a difference:
* Keep talking about Palestine and Lebanon
* Boycott companies funding this genocide and oppression.
* Demand our leaders impose sanctions on Israel.
Remember no one is free until all of us are free 🇱🇧🕊️🇵🇸
Lebanon Emergency Appeal:
The growing hostilities unfolding in Lebanon have led to an alarming deterioration of an already widespread humanitarian crisis.
As of September 2024, a series of violent attacks across the country resulted in the deaths of over 2,400 people including children and more than 11,200 people injured according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) in Lebanon has reported that hospitals and medical facilities, particularly in the South, are “at capacity with injured patients” as the ongoing crisis places a heavy toll on the Lebanese Health Ministry.
Human Appeal is focused on ensuring civilians and refugees are able to attain access to critical resources including nutrition, bedding, hygiene kits and medical aid.
With your help, we can work together to mitigate the ongoing devastation faced by civilians in Lebanon and bring much needed relief to the many communities suffering at this very moment.
Gaza Emergency Appeal:
The ongoing attacks on Gaza have led to catastrophic consequences in the region, bringing unimaginable suffering to countless innocent lives. As we speak, entire neighbourhoods, residential blocks and hospitals have been reduced to rubble, resulting in a devastating toll on human life and infrastructure.
According to the latest reports from the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 37,877 people have been killed including 15,000 children since October. Over 86,000 people have been injured in the attacks with more than 10,000 people missing.
The bombardments have continued to increase over the past months and the situation has become one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern history.
In response, Human Appeal is actively coordinating efforts with its on-ground team in Gaza to aid the displaced and medically injured. We are on the ground now, making sure emergency supplies are ready and delivered consistently, including:
* Water
* Food Parcels & Fresh bread
* Fruit & Vegetable Hampers
* Shelter & Bedding
* Medical Aid
Human Appeal Australia has been in Gaza for over 20 years, delivering immense support to locals even at the peak of catastrophe. Our paramedics have been on the ground working with and supporting Al-Shifa Hospital in the North prior to the outbreak of war and continue to do so. Recently, we successfully renovated Al-Helou Hospital which has resumed function of the facility offering much needed treatment to injured civilians.
Our current Gaza Emergency Appeal is focused on accumulating relief packs which consist of essentials such as food parcels, tents and sleeping bags among other items in efforts to alleviate the pain of those living through such disastrous conditions.
