Read School is raising money for Comic Relief

Charity Song

This Red Nose Day it's time to Take Yourself Funny for Money on Friday 20 March. Whatever you do to get a laugh, the money you raise will do serious good for serious reasons, across the UK and around the world.

Story

Comic Relief supports incredible projects and organisations that are making a difference for people across the UK and around the world.

Read Junior School Choir have recorded a song ‘Love My Life’ to raise money for Comic Relief.

This project has grown out of our work with the children around kindness, empathy and what it means to be a good friend. We have been encouraging them to think beyond themselves and understand how small actions can make a positive difference to others.

Recording a charity single felt like a meaningful way for the children to use their voices to support Comic Relief, whose work makes a real difference both locally and nationally by supporting people and communities who need help at different points in their lives.

We chose ‘Love My Life’ because it carries a strong, positive message about resilience, self-belief and finding hope even in challenging times. It reflects the importance of staying strong, supporting one another and spreading optimism - values that link closely with Comic Relief’s work and with what the children have been learning in school.

If you do listen to it, please donate to Comic Relief! Thank you!”

Through this project, the children hope to raise awareness and funds for Comic Relief while sharing a message of kindness, friendship and care for others.

Any donation you can make will make a difference. It could help provide shelter for those that need it, put food on plates, fill the shelves of baby banks, offer someone to talk to, or somewhere to be safe. It will go towards organisations supporting those facing poverty and injustice here in the UK and around the world.
