Hello! Me and my pal Kate are swimming a mile for the Great North Swim on Saturday 14th June 2025 for Brainstrust. It will be cold, it will be choppy and there may be poo.

In 2022, Kate was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had awake brain surgery to remove this. Kate is a complete legend and the surgery went really well but due to the type of tumour, will require active monitoring long term. This was obviously a life changing experience and it is charities like Brainstrust that can be vital to allow people such as Kate to navigate the emotional impact of a brain tumour diagnosis.
