Team Fundraising Ratz for Brainstrust

Raising money for Brainstrust

Great North Swim 2025 · 13 June 2025 to 14 June 2025 ·

We help people diagnosed with a brain tumour. We aim to give everyone diagnosed access to the resources that will put them back in control. We enable brain tumour patients and carers to become resilient and to utilise brain tumour support resources from all providers to their full potential.

Story

Becky and Kate are swimming a mile for the Great North Swim on Saturday 14th June 2025 for Brainstrust. It will be cold, it will be choppy and there may be poo. We are hoping to beat our previous times!

In 2022, Kate was diagnosed with a brain tumour and had awake brain surgery to remove this. Kate is a complete legend and the surgery went really well but due to the type of tumour, will require active monitoring long term. This was obviously a life changing experience and it is charities like Brainstrust that can be vital to allow people such as Kate to navigate the emotional impact of a brain tumour diagnosis.

Your kind donations ensure that brainstrust can continue to deliver vital services to support the brain tumour community.

Brainstrust also work with people in the clinical setting to secure the best possible care for people with a brain tumour and they campaign to solve real issues, related to the challenges people with a brain tumour face.
