On Sunday 20th September 2026, I'll be joining Velindre Cancer Charity for their iconic annual running event – Castle 2 Castle!

The 11-mile run starts at the formidable Caerphilly Castle, winding through the scenic Taff Trail, and finishing all the way in Cardiff city centre. Those that know me know that I am not a natural runner, always last in the school cross country, adamant I’d never do a run longer than a 10km (which I completed years ago and never repeated) and have always been astounded that people run for enjoyment. This year I have slowly began to build up my running - slowly being key in all aspects of my running - and once I saw this run knew it would be the one I could attempt with motivation after being looked after by Velindre after my Breast Cancer diagnosis over 10 years ago when I was 25.

I'll be taking part in this event with the aim of raising vital funds for Velindre Cancer Service, also known as, The Hospital of Hope so they can continue to help others that have to go through a cancer journey.
