Story
I wanted to run the Great North Run this year under my own name and for a good cause. When deciding which cause I should support, the only choice was St Cuthbert’s. They took such wonderful care of my fantastic Godmother, my aunty Kath and we as a family will be forever grateful for that. We have supported the wonderful people of St Cuthbert’s ever since. The hospice not only does fantastic work but is on our doorstep and I’ve ran past their front door ever since I started running so it felt quite fitting.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice provides specialist care to people with life-limiting illnesses, people approaching the end of life and the bereaved. We make no charge for our services, ensuring Hospice care is available to everyone. It costs over £2 million each year to keep St Cuthbert's Hospice running.
