Story
3 years ago my life changed when I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Since then I have had to make significant changes to how I live my life. Everyday is a battle with food, weight loss and fatigue.
Ulcerative colitis has affected every single aspect of my life. It is not just a digestive issue, it affects every single aspect of a persons life. Crohns and Colitis UK have helped significantly in terms of giving me support, guidance and reassurance. I have learned so much over the past 3 years about how to best manage colitis and also to try to raise as much awareness as possible. The Crohns and Colitis UK charity, work tirelessly to support those living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and works extremely hard to find a cure.
That is why on the 7th June, I shall be taking part in the Inflatable Lincoln 5K, hoping to raise as much funds as possible for this amazing charity that has helped me and continues to help me.
We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis.
Right now, an estimated 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. And the real number could be almost double that.
Because of the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding these diseases, thousands of people are suffering in silence.
But they’re not alone.
We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment, and to fund research into a cure; to raise awareness.
