Ben's Original Associates are taking on challenges all in aid of BBC Children in Need and I’ll be joining them by running the London Marathon 2026 – a race that feels like unfinished business.

Last year I crossed the line, but only just. After a solid start, a knee injury hit halfway, I ended up hobbling the rest of the way in the scorching heat. This time, I’m determined to finish strong - and do it for a cause that changes lives.

Growing up, I was never the sporty type (I actually hated PE!) and never imagined I’d call myself a ‘runner’. But over the last couple of years, I’ve discovered just how empowering running can be. It also taught me that the biggest limits are often the ones we set ourselves.

I also want show that running is for everyone – people of all backgrounds and faiths. Representation matters, and if someone like me can lace up and take on a marathon, then maybe a younger version of me watching, might believe they can too. 💪

So, as I train (and try to stay injury-free this time!), I’ll be reminding myself that this journey isn’t just about 26.2 miles, it's about helping to give children and young people the opportunities and support they deserve. Knowing that every step I take will help make a difference will keep me going until the finish line.
