3 GENERATIONS. 1 RUN. A REASON TO HOPE.

On 20th September, three generations of my family will be taking on the Castleford 10K together.

For me, this run means so much more than just 10 kilometres.

I'm raising money for The Ruby Project, because I know what it feels like to be a woman who has lost her way, to feel like your past has defined you and to wonder if your life can ever be different.

The Ruby Project walks alongside women who have experienced addiction, trauma, homelessness, exploitation and some of the hardest circumstances imaginable. They don't see a woman's past and decide that's who she is. They see the person underneath it. They remind women that they have worth, that they are loved, and that their story isn't over.

I've been in a place where I needed someone to believe in me.

Now I want to help make sure other women have someone standing beside them too.

I'm not a runner. In fact, I can't run the whole thing — I'll be fast walking and running where I can! 😂 But I'm doing it anyway, because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is simply keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Three generations of my family will be crossing that finish line together.

And every pound raised could help a woman who feels forgotten discover that she isn't.

Her past doesn't have to be her future.
