This Ramadan, I am supporting the Ramadan Family Commitment (RFC) as the RFC Ambassador for East Anglia.

RFC is a Channel S TV initiative that has been running since 2008 and has raised over £100 million through its partner charities. Each year, RFC brings communities together and transforms collective generosity into real, measurable impact.

During Ramadan, 26 live television appeals are broadcast on Channel S TV. All donations are distributed equally across 26 partner charitable appeals, supporting emergency humanitarian response, poverty relief, education, health and wellbeing, clean water projects, orphan support and community development across more than 150 countries.

Among the 26 partner appeals, some organisations are Sadaqah eligible and others are Zakat eligible in principle. The Channel S scholars oversee the campaign to ensure donations are handled responsibly and in accordance with Islamic charitable guidance.
