I am running the Scottish Half Marathon to raise money for East Neuk Lighthouse.

For many, the East Neuk brings memories of fish and chips, days out at the beach and quaint little villages adorning the coast, it is an area sorely underfunded and underserved in many areas.

East Neuk Lighthouse is a charity close to my heart, I am a trustee of it. I became involved through family connections and seeing for myself what it meant to be involved.

East Neuk Lighthouse is a Christian is a charity that aims to care for the people in our community and help out where they have the skills and resources to do that.

More than just putting on free family social events, Lighthouse also support local schools with outreach projects and literacy programmes to give both teachers and children the extra help they need to try and close the attainment gap. Putting books in the hands of children is something I am hugely passionate about as an educator.

My hope is, that by raising £500 this will help to pay for more books to be distributed to families who lack access to these key resources.
